And that taste for cooking was captured on a web page and now her recipes have been transferred to a book, which will go on sale on Saturday, October 15. It all started two years ago with a jalapeño that was an ingredient in Puerto Rican style rice with chicken.

It was exactly on October 6, 2020 that the Familia Kitchen website was launched, together with Lisa Hunt. After having prepared and tasted each dish, on the portal they publish almost without editing the best recipes they receive and hold monthly contests on a specific dish from the varied gastronomy of Latin America, such as pozole, ropa vieja, asado with chimichurri, sancocho, flan or Ceviche.

“That helps us so that not everything is Mexican recipes,” he says, but clarifies that he also likes Mexican cuisine, which is well known in the United States.

He didn’t like it so much that the Puerto Rican-style chicken rice recipe that he was looking for on the web one day to prepare that dish for his family began by saying: “cut the jalapeño”.
