James Cameron sent in the Avatar 4 script for review. There was only one comment: Fuck me

James Cameron revealed in early November that his ‘Avatar’ film franchise could end after three films if the box office fails. But as it turns out, the director has already prepared the script for the fourth part of the film and presents it as the craziest of all.

James Cameron already has everything planned in advance

In an interview with the portal, which was mostly devoted to the movie “Avatar: Essence of Water”, he revealed that the script for “Avatar 4” was the first part of the film that did not receive a single comment from studio bosses:

I can’t go into details, but all I can say is that when I handed in the script for Avatar: The Entity of Water, the studio gave me three pages of notes. And when I turned in the script for the third part, they gave me a page of notes, so I got better and better. When I handed in the script for “four”, the head of the studio wrote me an e-mail, in which there was only one sentence: “I’m f*cking”. And I was like, ‘Where are the notes?’ And she: »These are notes«. Because that’s a little crazy in a good way, isn’t it?

Cameron wrote and finished all four of the planned Avatar sequels before work began on The Essence of Water. In an interview with Collider, he mentioned that his model was similar to the one that Peter Jackson created for his Lord of the Rings trilogy. The director also conceived and shot three films at once. James Cameron also added what makes his project different from Jackson’s:

He was filming an adaptation of the books, so he could always show the actors what they needed to know about their characters. So I felt I had to do the same. I had to make it up as if the books already existed. The only way to do that was to write all the scripts and let the actors read them all and see where their characters were going and what it all meant. Not that it’s possible to play at the moment, but I think it’s something the actors could weave into their preparation for their characters

“Avatar: The Creature of Water” is the first sequel to the first part, which will be released in cinemas any day now. Despite this, it already collects good first reviews. Cameron confirmed to Total Film magazine that Avatar 3, which he had already shot in its entirety, was designed in such a way that it could be turned into a series ending should “The Thing of Water” not be a box office success.

“The market can tell us that in three months we’re finishing it all, or that we’re still halfway there, which is simply, ‘OK, let’s finish the story in the third film, not continue it indefinitely’ if it’s just won’t be profitable,” Cameron concluded.

If “Avatar: Essence of Water” and “Avatar 3” are commercially successful, then Cameron’s plan to make “Avatar 4” and “Avatar 5” may work. The premiere of the latest installment, “The Essence of Water”, in Polish cinemas will take place on December 16.
