Marvel shared, via Empire Magazine that will circulate on September 29, new images of the film Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverwhich will premiere on November 11, 2022. Subscribers will also receive a bonus, exclusive cover, between two options created by designer Hannah E. Beachler, winner of an Oscar for her work on Black Panther (2018).
In it you see the character of Namor (played by the Mexican Tenoch Huerta, in his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe) in a war dress and headdress, alongside Princess Shuri (Letitia Wright) and Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett).
Wakanda Forever It is the end of Phase 4 of the Multiverse Saga expansion, into which Marvel has integrated various movies and shows. Phase 5 will start in 2023. It will be, as Andy Behbakht describes it, of ScreenRant, “the most bittersweet feature film of phase 4″, as it follows the death of actor Charwick Boseman, and asks how it is possible for a franchise to continue without its main character, in this case, T’Challa.
Well, the succession is in the hands of Marvel, which at the San Diego Comic Con 2022 confirmed that within the MCU, T’Challa has also diedand a new Black Panther will take his place.
Who will it be? No white smoke yet, but speculation points to Princess Shuri, given her royal status, her place on the cover of Empire since in the comics she was Black Panther for a time.
Another sign is that recently a LEGO set leaked in which Shuri’s design gave it a new status.
Tenoch Huerta, in addition to being an actor, is an activist, and one of the hosts of the program Extended versionwhich is broadcast on YouTube, in which she discusses history, feminism, politics and social problems. In his profile, he humorously defines himself as a “resentful black man”, and he is no stranger to indigenous costumes, because as he wrote on his social networks, “our grandparents wore beautiful plumage.”
Huerta’s character, Namor, is described as an ‘underwater navigator’, and her clothing reflects the culture of her city, which is underwater. An ally or a villain? Namor is likely to be a heroic subject, following Marvel’s custom of presenting someone as hostile, only to redeem them soon after. Rumors about the role of the main enemy, after all, points to the powerful Doctor Doom. But until November, there is time to think about it. (AND)
