Mad Cool 2023: Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys and Liam Gallagher headline the new edition of the festival

The sixth edition of Mad Cool, which will be held from July 6 to 8, 2023, has today presented a line-up with a great British influence, with names like Liam Gallagher, Robbie Williams, Sam Smith or The Prodigy, who will accompany the American rock of Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Black Keys.

For the moment, the organizers of the Madrid festival have revealed a total of 53 bands for the three days, with a greater international than national presence, and which will have the return of Robbie Williams to Spain on its first dayas part of his “XXV” tour. Along with him, attendees will be able to experience the first performance in our country by Lizzo, author of songs like ‘Juice’ or ‘About Danm Time’, Lil Nas X and another newcomer in Madrid, fellow rapper Machine Gun Kelly; in addition to other recognizable names such as Franz Ferdinand, Sigur Rós or The 1975.

The next day, Friday July 7th, it will be the turn of Sam Smith, winner of the Oscar and the Golden Globe in 2016 for the best original song for ‘Writing’s on the Wall’, from the movie “Spectre” within the James Bond saga. The rock of Queens of the Stone Age and The Black Keys complete the headliners for this day, for which there is still a spot that will be confirmed in the coming months.

For this day, the performance of one of the national figures of Mad Cool 2023, con Delaporte and his personal mix of electronic sounds, pop and audiovisual games. On the 40th anniversary of their debut, the Californians Red Hot Chili Peppers will close the festival on Saturday, July 8, a day in which the British The Prodigy and Liam Gallagher will also perform, who, true to his style, will perform songs from his stage. solo and as a member of Oasis.

Other artists confirmed for the festival are The 1975, Nova Twins, Tash Sultana, Paolo Nutini, Jamie XX, Pixey, The Amazons, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Touché Amoré, The Blessed Madonna, Honey Dijon, Gayle, Selah Sue, Rüfus du Sol or Bombay Bicycle Club. Ticket sales will begin on December 15, followed by general one-day ticket sales on December 29; while customers of Banco Santander, main sponsor of the festival, will be able to purchase season tickets from the 12th to the 15th of this month and the tickets from the 26th to the 29th.

One of the great novelties of this edition is the transfer of the festival, in what will be its third location. After starting in the Caja Mágica and later in Valdebebas, now it will take its facilities next to the El Gato industrial estate and the Villaverde Industrial Factory. The organizers have defined this point as spacious and well connected with public transport, a controversial aspect last edition due to the long queues to leave the venue through an agreement with the Uber platform. In 2022, Mad Cool brought together 305,000 spectators -a daily average of 70,000 people- with more than a hundred bands, including The Killers, Metallica, Muse, Imagine Dragons, Natos and Waor or Nathy Peluso.
