People to people, a team of dialectologists travels through Spain investigating how we speak. They carry more than 30 years interviewingmainly, to our elders to recover those ways of speaking about country spanish.
This team of linguists works with the purpose of creating a conversation where the person feels comfortable and can speak as they really express themselves. This is then noted in the TO SEWthe Oral and Sound Corpus of Rural Spanish, like a Bible about our way of speaking.
Now all those experiences are collected in the book ‘as they say in my town‘, a small Bible that collects expressions like the one known “as I give you a miaja de apechusque, the threads”, unique ways of speaking in the La Mancha community.
The fundamental thing, they maintain, is to remove prejudices since many perceive that their way of speaking is wrong. But it is by no means something to be ashamed of. Because the origins always pass through the towns.
