Euskaraz irakurri: Gipuzkoako herritarrek ostiraletik erosi ahalko dute Kultura Bonua
The Gipuzkoa Culture Voucher will wear On sale this Friday, December 2in 64 bookstores of the territory, and under the same conditions as in previous years, with higher discounts for products in Basque.
In this context, the figures of the last two campaigns are maintained; In other words, the foral entity has allocated 80,000 euros so that citizens can acquire a total of 8,700 vouchers, of which 2,700 will be for cultural products in Basque and 6,000 for Spanish and other languages, with discounts of up to 12 euros per every 20 in the first case, and 8 in the second.
“From the first moment, we got the model right,” María José Tellería, the new regional deputy for Culture and Sports, said at a press conference, in her first appearance after the resignation of her predecessor, Harkaitz Millán, due to the altercation that led this weekend and which ended with his arrest by the Ertzaintza.
Together with her, the president of the Gipuzkoa Booksellers Guild, Adolfo López Chocarro, confirmed the success of this initiative, which was launched in 2015 to promote the habit of reading and strengthen the commercial and distribution network of cultural products in the territory, and that it increases the sales of the establishments at this time “quietly” by 25%.
The Christmas campaign “comes ahead and lengthens” in bookstores, with the bonus
López Chocarro has highlighted that the Culture Bonus “advances and lengthens” the Christmas campaign for bookstores, because, in addition to “warming up” with its sale from December 2, its use extends until the end of January (until the 29th, in 2023)which allows the buyer not only to consume culture, but also to “give away” culture during the Christmas period.
“At the Guild, we cannot be happier with a system that has worked from the beginning and that citizens await its arrival like the Christmas Lottery”, he added.
With the voucher, books can be purchased, with the exception of textbooks and professionals, and audiovisual products in any medium. They are purchased directly from the Gipuzkoan businesses participating in this campaign, and are distributed according to territorial balance and the size of the establishment.
