Although for April, who was celebrating her birthday at the time, it was supposed to be just a birthday party, it turned into a nightmare that changed her whole life.

April was looking forward to this party. It was her first outing after the lockdown

The cousins ​​and their friends went to one of the pubs in Great Cornard in Great Britain. At one point, someone tried to make a silly prank that ended up dropping a bottle of alcohol on the heater. The contents ignited and the bottle exploded. Unfortunately, the cousins ​​were nearby and the fire spread, among others on women’s faces.

Ashleigh instinctively wanted to protect her eyes and covered her face with her hands. It was in these places that she suffered the most serious burns. April suffered third degree burns to her face, neck, chest and hands. At first, April refused to be transported to the hospital and wanted to go home. However, she began to feel worse and worse, and it was then necessary to take her to the emergency room. It turned out that April’s condition was so serious that doctors had to put her in a coma for four days.

More than a year has passed since these events. April had to undergo many treatments and surgeries

April ended up spending a total of two months in the ward. She admitted in an interview with that the worst moment for her was when her son did not want to approach her because he was afraid of what he looked like.

The woman has been undergoing a long treatment. After the bandages were removed from her face, she had to wear plastic masks to protect her face. She changed them about every two weeks, because as the swelling went down, they didn’t fit her anymore. “They are itchy and scratchy and I can barely breathe in them, but the swelling and redness are gone now and they are extremely helpful.” she confessed. Every six weeks, he also undergoes laser treatments that are supposed to reduce the appearance of scars.

Unfortunately, April suffered more than just physical damage. For a long time she was afraid to leave the house, although she was a “party girl” type. Sharing her story on Instagram got her a lot of support, which allowed her to open up to people again.
