“The river makes its way through the mountains.” This is the first thing you read at the beginning and seconds later you can see the image of a mountain in the middle of the clouds. This is the beginning of the short film Pichu.

As the minutes go by, the development of the story that is very familiar to Ecuadorians continues. A girl and her mother are the protagonists of this animated story, which was written and directed by Cuencano Amaru Zeas Sigüenza.

‘Camino a la libertad’, the last film in which the Ecuadorian Efraín Ruales acted, opens in local theaters

Through social networks, excerpts from the short film are going viral, which has generated curiosity among Internet users and mainly because the plot leads to show that it was inspired by Ecuador and with an educational reality that children in rural areas go through. Said conclusion is confirmed by Zeas Sigüenza, who, through her Instagram account, told about her most recent work.

“I have the honor to share Picchu, an animated short film that I had the privilege of writing and directing. Creating Picchu reinforced my belief that everything is possible if you believe in yourself, have passion, commitment, consistency and a purpose”, wrote the Cuencan and invited to see the short at http://vimeo.com/amaruzeas/picchu.

Picchu is not only on Vimeo too is available on the Amazon Web Services YouTube channel (AWS) and as part of the description they mention that this film was created by FuzzyPixel, whose production team is within AWS and includes artists and creatives who “promote and test new technologies to help ensure they withstand the rigors of production of the real world”. And precisely within that team is the Cuencano.

They also indicate that the story deals with the journey of the little Maywho has the “unconditional support of his mother” and that the film “reflects the reality of many children around the world.

The description concludes by noting that the short film “was created using Amazon Nimble Studio, a service that allows artists to animate in the cloud.” (AND)
