She was Fiona’s voice in the Polish version of “Shrek”. Do you know what it looks like?

We meet Fiona in the first part of the production as a red-haired beauty locked in a castle guarded by a dragon. She is wearing a characteristic green dress with golden inserts and is waiting for the prince charming who will enter the chamber in the highest tower and with a kiss of true love will remove her charm. The saviors turn out to be the ogre Shrek and the donkey, who come to the castle at the behest of Lord Farquaad. Audiences of all ages probably know the later course of events, and of course it ends with the fact that … they lived happily ever after. In the original production, Fiona was voiced by Cameron Diaz. However, not everyone knows who is behind the voice of the princess in the Polish version of the film.

Who voiced Fiona on “Shrek”? You have certainly heard it in many films

In the Polish version of “” Fiona was voiced by Agnieszka Kunikowska, a journalist, TV reader, but above all “the princess of Polish dubbing”. She graduated from the acting department at the PWST in Krakow. Kunikowska can be heard not only in the most famous animated productions, but also in Program I Polish. He hosts the programs “Radio Dzieciom” and “Słowoteka” there.

As we learn from the description on Polish Radio, the 53-year-old likes “Czech movies, Slovak Tatras, Russian dumplings, English humor, cycling, The Police and … words by Miron Białoszewski: ‘Catch joy by the tail, even if you like will break free, feathers will remain … ‘”.

However, Fiona is not the only famous character voiced by Kunikowska. They also include: Triss Merigold from the “The Witcher” trilogy, Trixie from “Toy Story”, Miss Hattie from “Despicable Me”, Colette Tatou from “Ratatouille” and Deb from “Finding Nemo”. However, as she admitted in one of the voices, the voice must “stick to the character”. This is what happened in the case of Princess Fiona, because it is up to the external production of the film to decide on the involvement of a given person:

– Our Polish voices usually fly as far as the United States, and there people who do not know the Polish language judge whether the voice is sticky. My voice stuck with Fiona and I also stuck with her a bit.

Agnieszka Kunikowska in 2021 became the Master of the Polish Speech

The Master of Polish Speech is a social program aimed at popularizing the Polish language and honoring people who, according to generally recognized canons, deserve the title of Masters of the Polish Speech.
