Colombian singer Shakira has rejected the agreement offered by the Barcelona Prosecutor’s Office to avoid being tried for four crimes against the public treasury and has decided to go to trial, since confident “fully” in his innocence.

The court considers that “with the available data it can be considered that the appellant was habitually resident in Spain“and that the documentation provided by the singer is not enough to prove tax residence in another country in the terms required by tax regulations.

Thus, the Court of Barcelona rules out the dismissal of the case interested in the defense of the singer, “once the insufficiency of the evidence of accreditation of the main fact“.
