The Private Investment Promotion Agency (Proinversión) announces a tender for the concession of the projects “500 kV Huánuco-Tocache-Celendín-Trujillo link, extensions and associated substations” and “500 kV Celendín-Piura link, extensions and associated substations”, that will benefit families and productive activities in seven regions of the country: Cajamarca, Huánuco, La Libertad, San Martín, Amazonas, Lambayeque and Piura.
In this way, the bidding process for these two projects begins, the largest convened in the last 10 years.
The projects aim to strengthen the supply of electricity to the northern part of the country, in order to provide reliability and greater transfer capacity between the central and northern areas, thus contributing to the promotion of industrial, commercial and service activities. , and the growth of regional economies.
The concession will be granted under the modality of contest of integral projects. The winner of the contest will be in charge of the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of the two projects under the self-financed public-private partnership (PPP) modality.
The concession period for both projects includes a period of 60 months for the execution from the signing of the contracts and 30 years of operation and maintenance from its commercial operation. The award of the concessions is scheduled for the second quarter of 2023.
About the projects
The work “500 kV Huánuco – Tocache – Celendín – Trujillo link, extensions and associated substations”of US$ 411 million, will allow the installation of an alternating electric power transmission line between the central and northern zones of the country.
It will start from the Huánuco 500 kV substation and will link the new Tocache and Celendín 500 kV substations to finally connect with the Trujillo 500 kV substation, from where power will be supplied, in case of contingency, to the 500 kV connected substations: La Niña, Piura and Chimbote.
In that sense, Its areas of influence and benefits to the populations cover the regions of Huánuco, San Martín, Cajamarca and La Libertad.
For his part, “Link 500 kV Celendín – Piura, extensions and associated substations”of US$ 200 million, will allow an alternate electric power transmission axis, between the central and extreme north zones of the country.
It will depart from the Celendín 500 kV substation to the Piura 500 kV substation, from where it will supply energy, in case of contingency, to the 500 kV connected substations: La Niña and Trujillo; its area of influence and benefits to users covers the regions of Cajamarca, Amazonas, Lambayeque and Piura.
