The price of electricity for regulated rate customers today it will go from 300 euros/MWh for the first time since March, including the cost of the ‘pool’ and compensation to gas companies, compared to 298.49 euros this Monday, according to the latest data from the Iberian Electricity Market Operator (OMIE), collected by Servimedia. In this way, the average price will rise this Tuesday by 1.53% compared to yesterday, until the 303.07 euros per megawatt hour (MWh).
The 303.07 euros per MWh today will represent a rise of 27.4% compared to the 237.78 euros of Tuesday of last week and 81.4% more than the 167.06 euros of a month ago, the June 12.
The price of electricity for regulated rate customers linked to the wholesale market did not exceed the level of 300 euros/MWh since last March 10, the same week in which the record for the historical series was reached and which took place on March 8 with 544.98 euros/MWh, a record that occurred within the framework of the upward spiral price of gas due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine at the end of February.
The maximum price of electricity for this July 12 will be registered between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.with 201.6 euros/MWh, while the minimum for the day, of 123.55 euros/MWh, occurred between 04:00 and 05:00.
