27 days have passed since the facilities of station 5 of the North Peruvian oil pipeline in Manseriche (Loreto) they remain taken as part of the so-called Amazon Strike. There would be around 150 people who remain inside the facilities.
Through a press release, Petroperú expresses its intention to dialogue with the protesters. Along these lines, he invited “the representatives of the federations that promote these actions to make their claims in a peaceful manner, through dialogue with government institutions, maintaining social peace, avoiding violent actions that put their lives at risk and that continue to paralyze the hydrocarbon industry ”.

The measure of force began on October 4 and, according to Petroperú, is promoted by the Native Federation Awajún Río Apaga (Fenara) and the Peoples Affected by Petroleum Activity (PAAP), in demand of a series of projects linked to basic services.
Petroperú points out that the personnel of the Andoas and Morona Stations, located in the North Branch of the ONP, as well as the workers of Stations 5 and 6, were promptly evacuated.

At the moment, the transportation of crude through the North Peruvian Pipeline is paralyzed, generating a loss of around 3 million dollars. “Likewise, we have in Station 1, more than 400 thousand barrels of crude in the storage tanks, waiting to be transported. And 130 thousand barrels of crude oil immobilized in floating barges on the Marañón River, a high risk situation from the point of view of the safety of neighboring towns, facilities and the environment. “
They call for dialogue
Petroperú asks the protesters to dialogue with the authorities. As they indicate, it is possible to reach agreements to solve the problems that afflict the communities within the framework of the rule of law and respect for the norms.
Likewise, they urge the protesters to “lay down their measure of force, leave the facilities and make their claims in a peaceful manner, avoiding these actions that put their lives at risk.”

In the same way, they warn that inside the facilities the protesters are preparing food without considering the risk that this entails, since it is a highly flammable space. “Any bonfire or even the use of cell phones could set off fires and explosions with terrible consequences,” they indicated.
Due to this measure of force, Petroperú affirms that it is prevented from having control of the facilities, a situation that makes it impossible to carry out any operational action, as well as to attend to emergencies in the event of a contingency or accident.
