Banco de la Nación will create 10 million DNI Accounts during 2022

The National bank reported that it plans to create 10 million DNI Accounts during this year, as well as another 12 million at the end of 2023.

Along these lines, and considering the more than 2.1 million accounts generated in 2021, 100% of Peruvians of legal age will be reached with banking services.

In addition, Luis Sternberg, general manager of the BN, specifies that in terms of usability, at the end of 2023 a DNI Account holder will be able to make transfers to and from their own account, as well as benefit from the services of the main wallets in the country and make purchases in establishments only with your cell phone, added to the possibility of executing service payments.

It is worth mentioning that the state bank uses Backbase’s omnichannel software for DNI Account users to withdraw from ATMs, make payments or transfer funds to a digital wallet, as well as to pay for physical purchases in stores affiliated with Vendemás de Niubiz.

“Being a 100% digital bank account, it allows it to be activated and used without the presence of the citizen in a Banco de la Nación agency, breaking the barrier of distance and presence. Thus, all Peruvians of legal age will be able to use their DNI Account as long as they have a cell phone in their name,” Sternberg said.
