The Executive Power presented to Congress a bill for the unlocking of 1,700 paralyzed works valued at S / 12,000 million, according to the head of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), Óscar Graham.
“In the Council of Ministers last week we approved a bill for the unblocking of paralyzed works, which generates not only inconvenience for the citizen because he cannot count on the services that he has projected due to non-compliance with the execution of public works, but also which also generates a lower employment rate and lower economic growth,” said the Minister of Economy.
Graham explained that this legislative initiative seeks to generate a record of paralyzed works that have 40% progress, and with 6 months or more without any physical execution, which will be unlocked.
In addition, permanent measures will be created, such as the Dispute Resolution Board, which will facilitate the continuity of the work. “And so we don’t have what we have now, which are paralyzed works for years that do not meet the objective of satisfying citizen needs and also do not help close social and infrastructure gaps,” he said.
