Within the framework of the delegation of powers granted by the Congress of the republicthe Executive approved today in the Council of Ministers a legislative decree that modifies the norm of customs crimes.
In this regard, the head of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), Óscar Graham, explained that this change occurs because the law had become outdated, since it is a rule of almost 20 years and the provisions are sought to be more practical. .
“We are determining how much is the minimum amounts on which the process is going to be prosecuted or not; We will also determine what to do with the storage time that has to be done with the seized merchandise. All this with the aim of facilitating the intervention of the customs authority but also being more practical, because over time there have been many changes,” the official explained at a press conference.
Graham Yamahuchi also reported that the sixth method for calculating transactions between related companies is being determined. That is, those foreign companies that have a subsidiary in the Peru“they have to use this method basically using the referents of the international markets such as the market in London or Shangay”.
