The average price of electricity in the wholesale market will be 7.28% lower than on Sunday, according to provisional data.
The average price of electricity in the wholesale market falls for the sixth consecutive time, according to provisional data published by the Iberian Energy Market Operator (OMIE).
Specifically, the price of electricity this April 18 will be 103.24 euros per megawatt hour (MWh), 7.28% less than on Sunday. In this way, the price of this Monday will be the lowest since December 27, 2021, the day on which 96.08 euros/MWh was paid.
The maximum price of electricity for this April 18 will be between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., with 219.69 euros/MWh, and the minimum, 45 euros/MWh, will be recorded between 2:00 p.m. 3:00 p.m.
The National Commission of Markets and Competition (CNMC) has verified that in 2021, in the framework of the upward spiral of energy, around 1.25 million people switched from the PVPC to a rate in the free market at a fixed price .
