Airports of Peru (AdP) has communicated that it has signed a contract with the CESEL-UG21 Consortium to develop the Technical File of the optimization investment for the construction of the passenger terminal, expansion of the aircraft platform and other support facilities for the operations of the Captain FAP Guillermo Concha Iberico Airportfrom Piura, whose construction will require, at the time, an investment of US$ 36 million.
“The technical file of this investment will contemplate the detailed engineering of the expansion of the passenger terminal with the aim of being able to increase the flow of passengers, increase aircraft service capacity during peak hours of demand, as well as improve service levels for users in general and strengthen airport security standards, within the current areas of the concession. This will contribute to improving the connectivity of the city of Piura for the benefit of the entire region, promoting both tourism and trade and business”, detailed the general manager of Airports of Peru, Evans Avendaño.
These studies also include the preparation of the corresponding Environmental Management Instrument, which establishes the recommendations and mitigation measures to address the environmental impacts that may arise in the execution of the works.
AdP assured that the achievement of this important milestone is thanks to the joint effort between the private and public sectors, represented by the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC). Both were in charge of reviewing, validating and approving the terms of reference of the definitive studies for the advancement of this optimization investment.
