TRADISNA believes that the measures proposed by the Government of Spain “are not insufficient and do not provide a real solution to the problems of the sector”, although fissures between carriers can be sensed. The Hiru union meets on Sunday in an assembly to decide whether or not to continue with the strike.
The Association of Carriers of Navarra TRADISNA has decided continue with the indefinite strike of carriers started on March 14 because they believe that the measures proposed by the Spanish Government’s Transport Minister, Raquel Sánchez, “are insufficient and do not provide a real solution to the sector’s problems”.

In the afternoon, TRADISNA has made a manifestation on Pamplona, who left at 5:00 p.m. from Plaza Baluarte and who had the support of the EHNE agricultural union. A banner with the slogan “Carriers, neither heroes nor villains. solutions now!” and slogans such as “Transport solution, minister resigns” have been chanted.
However, the participation on the march has been less than expected, with about 300 people (including family members of carriers), which would demonstrate the division between Navarre carriers. It remains to be seen if in the next few days they hold an assembly to make a decision regarding the strike.
Ildefonso Gamez, president of the association of carriers of Navarra, has reiterated that it is not possible to work below costs and therefore “what is requested is that there be a minimum clause that no one can work below.” Gámez has indicated that they could hold an assembly, “if the partners demand it” and, if it is agreed not to continue the strike, “work will begin”, regardless of whether Platform “calls off the call or not”.
For his part, the manager of the association, Alberto Latorre, has confirmed that they expected “something more” from the Spanish Government. “There are issues that do not reach what was expected, there are many issues, they are not satisfied with the amounts offered for the diesel issue, nor have agreements been reached regarding working at a loss, or agreements regarding other social issues or early retirement at age 60”.
On the possibility of specifying a minimum for an agreement with the Government, he stressed that “that is the problem with this strike, which has begun and it is not very clear how it will end.” At Tradisna, “we are supporting a strike that we have not called,” he added.
In the entity there are about 800 partners (600 freelancers and 200 small businesses) and “within our own partners there are people who have not supported the strike and other people who have,” he concluded.
