The Government of Spain meets today with the carriers “convinced” of reaching an agreement


The Executive had set a meeting with the CNTC for Friday to specify the economic measures to alleviate the rise in fuel prices, but has decided to move the appointment forward one day.

The Government of Spain is meeting this Thursday with carriers to address and define a package of measures with the sector that will mitigate the impact of fuel prices on their activity, which means bringing forward the meeting that was announced for the Friday.

According to government sources quoted by Europa Press, the Minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Nadia Calvinowill attend the meeting, with the intention of “not leaving the table until there is no agreement”.

On Monday, several measures were already advanced, such as 500 million in greater tax credits for diesel, but its specification was lacking, something that was going to be done on Friday and will finally be done tomorrow.

The Executive will meet, once again, with those it considers to be the “legitimate representatives of the sector”, that is, with the National Committee for Road Transport (CNTC), with the desire to reach an agreement. This series of meetings is taking place on the sidelines of the carrier strike, called by a platform of self-employed workers and small businesses that has caused severe shortages in industries.

After Monday’s meeting, Fenadismer, Fetransa and Feintra, three majority organizations that are represented in the CNTC, gave their associates the freedom to stop the activity until the announced measures were carried out.

In the control session in Congress, the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, was convinced this Wednesday that the agreement will arrive this week.

In addition, this Thursday, at 4:30 p.m., the Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Rachel Sanchezwill meet with the second of the branches represented in the CNTC, that of travelers, which brings together the activities carried out by buses, taxis, VTC and ambulances, also affected by the increase in fuel prices.

On the other hand, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, louis planeshas advanced that the Government will approve specific measures next Tuesday to limit the impact of the increase in the cost of diesel oil in the operating costs of the fishermen.
