Precautionary measure granted to Gasnorp to continue gas massification works in Piura

The Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) granted a precautionary measure to the company Gases del Norte del Perú SAC for the occupation, passage and transit over a property located in the district and province of Sechura, department of Piura, in order to continue with the gas massification works in that region .

Through Ministerial Resolution No. 391-2021-MINEM / DM, Gasnorp is empowered to make preparations and adopt the corresponding security measures for the implementation of machinery, equipment, materials and personnel necessary to carry out the construction of the Natural Gas Distribution System by Pipeline Network in the Piura region, as long as the main procedure for establishing easement is not concluded.

“Gasnorp requests a precautionary measure for the early delivery of the areas that are the subject of the request for easement, in order for it to be able to exercise the rights derived from the easement of occupation, passage and transit on the property of the Co-owners, in order to carry out the actions preparatory and adopt the corresponding security measures for the implementation of machinery, equipment, materials and personnel necessary to carry out the construction of the Distribution System, in compliance with the deadlines and other conditions established in the Concession Contract ”, states the resolution .

Before starting the works on the property, Gasnorp must deliver to Minem, as collateral, a bank guarantee letter of solidarity, unconditional, irrevocable, automatic execution and without benefit of excusion, for an amount of US $ 318,712.18.

This, in order to guarantee compensation for damages that may be caused by its execution. The aforementioned letter of guarantee will have a validity period of twelve (12) months from its issuance, and will be extended, if applicable, for the same period, in order to guarantee coverage of the precautionary procedure.

It should be noted that the progress of gas connections in Piura is one of the lowest at the national level. Gasnorp plans to reach more than 2,500 households connected to the service this year, in addition to building 20 kilometers of additional polyethylene distribution networks.
