The National Superintendency of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat) reported this Friday, March 18, that more than 91,000 individuals who submitted their Annual Income Tax Return 2021 They have already received their refund for excess payment of this tax, mainly through a deposit in their bank accounts.
The figure is equivalent to about 80% of the total refund requests submitted to date by taxpayers (117,000), one month after the voluntary filing of Income Statements began, whose expiration schedule runs from March 25 to 8 April, according to the last digit of the RUC.
Sunat highlighted that the total amount returned so far is equivalent to S/ 129 million, an amount that will increase as more taxpayers submit their 2021 Income Statement and the respective refund request.
Likewise, the high percentage of returns already made reflects an improvement in the speed of the Customs and Tax Administration to meet these requests, in shorter terms than those established, in such a way that natural persons who have already declared can have those resources more promptly.
It should be noted that 9 out of 10 refunds were made by deposit in the taxpayer’s bank account. The other two modalities, used to a lesser extent, are the financial payment order or the issuance of a check.
