The Social Security Normalization Office (ONP) approved 1,060 special proportional pensions during the first twelve days of validity of Supreme Decree No. 282-2021-EF, a rule that facilitates access to a pension for insured persons of the National Pension System.
During his presentation before the Labor and Social Security Commission of Congress, the head of the ONP, Walter Borja Rojas, reported that they received more than 10,000 applications and that it is a priority to improve social security coverage so that more Peruvians enjoy the right to pension.
“The first year we hope to benefit more than 46,000 Peruvians with a proportional pension, grant more than 8,000 advanced pensions and offer more than 19,000 pensioners the possibility of restarting work without suspending their pension if they so wish,” he said. the head of the ONP.
To achieve this objective, he explained that the ONP has been implementing contingency measures, among them the creation of a special “line” for the qualification of proportional pensions, the extension of the public attention hours and the generation of extraordinary pay sheets so that the new pensioners receive their pension next Thursday, November 18.
Borja Rojas, who assumed the leadership of the ONP on September 24, reported that he received the entity with a significant increase in complaints compared to 2020, due to the pandemic. He pointed out that they have already adopted improvement actions and established results and indicators in the short, medium and long term.
