Netflix reported this Wednesday that they will charge an extra fee of S / 7.90 to their clients residing in Peru for each user who does not live in the home of the account holder.
Chegyi Long, director of product innovation at Netflix, noted that “over the next few weeks” they will run this test for their members also in Chile and Costa Rica, claiming that this practice “affects our ability to invest in new television shows and movies for our members.”
In summary, users with Standard and Premium plans will be able to add up to two people with whom they do not live after paying the S/ 7.90: each one will have their profile, personalized recommendations, username and password.
It is worth remembering that Netflix has 222 million subscribers around the world, but the number of new users and the growth curve have moderated in this last stretch.
