The dairy industry Spain has announced that it is forced to suspend its transforming activity as a result of the transportation strike which has been developing since last Monday, as reported by the National Federation of Dairy Industries (Fenil) in a statement.
Specifically, factories have seen interrupted the supply of the necessary inputs for the production of dairy products and also the transfer of the finished product to the distribution chains, for which the packaging, storage and management capacity of a food that is highly perishable and essential for daily consumption has been annulled.
According to Fenil, which includes more than 60 companies in the sector and represents more than 95% of state production of dairy productsthis stoppage is causing “inevitable” social, economic and environmental consequences, since it will mean the suspension of milk collection from livestock farms from tomorrow and, above all, it puts the supply of products such as milk and dairy products at risk .
From the federation they have stressed that this decision will only be reversed if it is guaranteed the right to mobility and safety of carriers who have not supported the strike.
