The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI)detailed that the employed population in Metropolitan Lima reached 4 million 878,200 people during December (2021), January and February of the present.
In this sense, compared to the same period prior to the arrival of COVID-19 in our country, the employed population contracted 2.4%, given that 119,400 jobs remain to be recovered.
In that line, the underemployed population rebounded by 20.3%, reaching 370,600 people. Compared to last year’s study period, this increased 28.6%.
Likewise, the population with adequate employment continues to contract by 15.5%, to the point that they weigh down a gap of 490,000 workers compared to pre-pandemic levels. In total, the adequately employed population fell from 3,170,400 to 2,680,400.
On the other hand, the average income in the capital is S/ 140.50 below what was perceived in the prelude to the health crisis, totaling only S/ 1,650. Before it was S / 1,790.
