The Provincial Treasury of Biscaythrough different control and verification actions, has uncovered a fraud of €322.1 million in 2021, as reported by the deputy for the Treasury of Bizkaia, Jose Mari Iruarrizaga, and the general director of the Treasury, Iñaki Alonso, at a press conference.

In addition, the Treasury has transferred to the Prosecutor’s Office 12 alleged tax offenses which add up to a defrauded amount of 9.8 million euros.

Tax rebates announced by the Spanish Government
To questions from journalists, Iruarrizaga has acknowledged that the possible tax cuts that the central government may approve to reduce the impact of the rise in energy prices on families and companies “will affect the regional collection” since, being indirect taxes , the CAV “has no regulatory capacity and it only has to abide by and apply what the State approves.”
