The CAF group has signed a contract with the state railway operator Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR). The agreement amounts to 200 million of euros. The company has previously carried out unit supply and maintenance contracts in Saudi Arabia.
The service contract includes maintenance works of the trains supplied by CAF for a period of five years. Likewise, it has been agreed to create an engineering department with the aim of training the SAR staff and adapting the facilities for the reconditioning of the trains. A center for digitization to develop systems and tools for the trains of the SAR fleet.
The trains supplied by the CAF group serve a railway network of more than 1,700 kilometers, which connect the capital Riyadh with important cities and areas of the country.
