Facua has been able to verify that the airline continues to charge an extra price to users who wish to bring hand luggage into the cabin if they contract the so-called Basic fare -the cheapest- with prices ranging between 30 and 40 euros.
The consumer association Facua has presented a new complaint against the company Vueling for continuing to apply its policy of charging passengers for boarding hand luggage to cabin, allowing it at no extra cost only in the case of the most expensive fares.
Facua has been able to verify that the airline continues to charge an extra price to users who wish to bring hand luggage into the cabin if they contract the call Basic rate -the most economical- with prices ranging between 30 and 40 euros.
“Only those who decide on the Optima, Family or Timeflex fares -more expensive- are allowed to upload a second piece of luggage,” he assured in a statement, in which he recalls that Vueling implemented this practice in November 2020 with the argument that it served to “avoid crowds” of passengers and thus guarantee the proper separation required by the measures against covid-19.
The consumer organization has denounced this new airline policy to the Catalan Consumer Agency “for abusive”since “it used the context of the pandemic to obtain greater benefits to the detriment of the rights of consumers”, who until now could upload hand luggage for free.
