Revenue from income tax increased 15.5% in February

The Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) reported that income tax collection had an increase of 15.5% in February of this year, compared to a similar month in 2021.

According to the monetary entity, this performance is due to higher payments from legal entities and natural persons, partially offset by lower income from regularization, given the registration of extraordinary income in February of last year as a result of inspection actions by Sunat.

In detail, heIncome tax collection from legal entities grew by 25.3% year-on-year in February. Payments on account of domiciled and non-domiciled taxpayers had the same interannual growth rate.

In the month of analysis, the collection of personal income tax increased by 21.1% between February 2021 and 2022, mainly due to higher income from labor income (fifth and fourth categories) and second category (dividends).

In the first two months of the year, income tax collection increased 19.1% compared to the same period in 2021.
