Tapia: “The first decision must be European to decouple the price of electricity from gas”

In the opinion of the Minister for Economic Development, Sustainability and the Environment of the Basque Government, energy must be produced “here” and decisions must be made to make it so.

Tapia believes that the commitment to renewable energy must be “real” and that in that case projects must be accelerated. Within renewable energies, he has mentioned wind and photovoltaic.

Asked by the nuclear energy, considers that this door is closed in Euskadi: “That debate is closed in our country, but France, for example, has opted to open 20 new nuclear power plants”.

In Tapia’s opinion, the economic aid to deal with the situation they will come from Europe: “We are in an emergency situation, it is a special situation and the main aid will be established in Europe”.
