The Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) puts into circulation today a silver coin commemorating the centenary of its foundation, which was on March 9, 1922.
It should be noted that it was initially called the Reserve Bank of Peru, and was transformed in 1931 into the Central Reserve Bank of Peru.
The commemorative coin has a denomination of S/ 1 and the maximum issue is 10,000 units. The year of minting is 2022.
The reverse of the coin shows the building of the Bank’s second location, which was inaugurated in 1929 and is currently the headquarters of the BCRP Central Museum.
At the bottom of the coin is the phrase “Centennial of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP)” and at the top the period being commemorated: 1922 – 2022.
On the obverse, there is the coat of arms, the text “Banco Central de Reserva del Perú”, the year of minting and the denomination in letters “un sol”.
This coin is legal tender and can be purchased at the BCRP Sales Portal at an initial price of S/ 157.
