CAF will deliver 175 million dollars in credits to Ecuador

This Tuesday the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) indicated that it signed with Ecuador the delivery of three credits for the total amount of 175 million dollars.

These will be used for three programs, according to a statement from the entity.

The Minister of Economy and Finance, Simón Cueva, and the President of CAF, Sergio Díaz-Granados, signed the contract for the three credits in Asunción, Paraguay: One for 75 million dollars for the Broad Focus Sector Program (highway , irrigation and tools to optimize investment monitoring), another of 50 million dollars for the National Water and Sanitation Plan 2021-2025, and finally one of 50 million dollars for the implementation of the National Development Plan in the Sector of Education 2021 – 2025.

“These credits demonstrate our commitment to continue supporting the Government of Ecuador in its development programs, and thereby contribute to sustainable growth that seeks to improve the quality of life of all Ecuadorians,” said the CAF president.

CAF has mentioned that the portfolio with Ecuador currently represents 13.9% of the total that the institution has and that since 2016 it has approved the delivery of 3,910 million dollars. (I)
