Agrobanco granted more than S/ 257 million in credits to 23,000 rural women

In the last year, Agrobanco disbursed S/257.6 million in credits for the agricultural and livestock campaigns of 23,184 women entrepreneurs.

Thus, 90% of those who were attended during this period obtained a loan for the first time; that is to say, 20,772 women accessed the opportunity to enter the financial sector.

Along these lines, Agrobanco reported that it seeks to increase access to credit for more rural women, for which they are launching the financial product CrediWarmi, through which it seeks to increase their productivity and the participation of agricultural entrepreneurs in the market.

This CrediWarmi loan will take effect in April 2022 and may be required at the agencies of the financial institution nationwide.

“The empowerment of agricultural women is a key factor in safeguarding food security and creating a fairer society. For this reason, it seeks to promote their economic autonomy through access to flexible credits that adapt to their needs and their reality, to increase their income, maintain their own health and that of their families, thus achieving equity in their homes and communities.” , affirmed the president of the board of directors of Agrobanco, César Quispe Luján.

This loan will be aimed at rural women over 18 years of age who work in the agricultural sector. In addition, this loan may be requested by small producers, individually or in association.

In the agricultural sector, activities such as planting, maintenance, harvesting and marketing of products on a smaller scale will be financed, that is, micro-gardens will be included.

While in the livestock sector, the destination of financing will be the raising and marketing of small animals such as guinea pigs, rabbits, sheep, goats, camelids, cattle, pigs and birds in general, including quail; as well as the marketing of milk and its derivatives.
