A1 Consultores ratified as liquidator of Doe Run Peru

After this morning the residents of the district of San Pedro de Coris took over the Cobriza mining unit (UMC), the creditors’ meeting, which met today at 10:00 am, agreed to ratify A1 Consultores as liquidator of Doe Run Peru.

The session also approved the liquidation plan for the mine, which contemplates its direct sale or by auction. “The liquidator is empowered to carry out the direct sale, public or private auction of the UMC for a period of 4 months from the signing of this agreement for an amount of no less than US$ 19,600,000 plus VAT”, indicates the minutes signed by the meeting.

Likewise, it specifies that the sale must be approved by the creditors’ meeting, otherwise it will not be valid. In that line, it also indicates that after four months, a new price for the mining project may be approved.

As for the workers, the document states that the liquidator must include in the contract that the buyer is obliged to hire the workers of the three Cobriza payrolls that were in force when the mining unit belonged to Doe Run Peru.
