The Minister of Economy and Finance, Pedro Francke, argued that the private sector can play a fundamental role in the design and execution of Tax Works (OxI), which is why, soon, so, in his opinion, business organizations could have their own offices to help them to design and execute projects more effectively.
During his presentation at the discussion “From commitment to action: perspectives and opportunities for Tax Works”, organized by Proinversión, the head of the MEF remarked that there is an excellent spirit among regional governors regarding tax works due to their Quick start-up, so your portfolio evaluates taking a next step.
“I believe that the mechanism of works for taxes has advanced a lot in Peru, but that it can advance much more. I have already raised this with business leaders because I believe that business organizations themselves could have offices that make it easier for them to design and execute works for taxes. A greater organization of the private sector, private collaboration, can help to fulfill this type of initiatives ”, indicated the minister.
He also said that there is a complementarity between public works and private investment that has to do with the need for companies to have a good relationship with the surrounding communities, provinces and districts.
“It is important, today, that the private company has come to have a point of view in which it must consider its stakeholders. That the issue of social responsibility implies having an idea of the mission and vision of the company, which not only includes shareholders but also its collaborators and the community in general ”, remarked Francke.
“We have to recognize that in the public sector, from the Economy and Finance sector, we have a task to fulfill and spaces to improve,” he added.
