Betssy Chávez, in her capacity as congresswoman, sent a letter to the president of the Economy Commission Silvia Monteza to request that the debate and approval of bill 0929/2021 of her co-authorship on the return of 100% of the balance of the pension contributions to members of the private pension fund management system who availed themselves of the benefit of Law 31192.
This legislative initiative, which was supported by Chávez before the Economy Commission last January, provides that affiliates who had up to 4 UIT of their funds last year be allowed to withdraw the total of the pension funds -in a single army-. .
“I request that the agenda of the fourteenth ordinary session scheduled for today (yesterday) be extended so that the aforementioned bill is passed as it is of vital importance for AFP members and former contributors,” he said.
It should be noted that there are other bills from different benches that also request the release of pension savings, which have not yet been voted on.
“Amazing. The disaster led from the Executive. The Minister of Labor breaking the foundations of social security. Never, anywhere in the world, has the government been seen to lead the destruction of pensions. Absolute incompetence”, said the advisor on public policy issues of the AFP Association, David Tuesta.
According to the official letter sent by Chávez (see attached), this request does as a congressman and co-author of the project. For this reason, it is clear that this is not a request by the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE) or the Executive.
It is important to underline that the legislative initiative was presented on September 12 of last year, one month before the appointment of Chávez as minister of the Labor portfolio.
