The councilor for the province of Islay and president of the Agriculture Commission, Elmer Pinto Cáceres, presented a document of reconsideration of the agreement with which the signing of addendum 13 for the Majes Siguas II project was approved.
Said official letter was sent to the president of the Regional Council of Arequipa and the rest of the councilors so that they join his request. This Tuesday, Pinto reported that he already had the signature of two other directors: Ysrael Zúñiga and Edy Medina.
According to Pinto, his request needs only one more signature to be approved and for the president of the Regional Council to put it on the agenda for the next ordinary session. “The councilor of the province of Caylloma (Veto Bernal), the farmers have asked him to reconsider his vote, we are waiting for his signature or that of the councilor of Camaná, Chriss Díaz,” he told La República.
The regional legislator specified that they only have until 3:30 pm this Tuesday to collect the four necessary signatures.
On your side, the president of the Regional Council, José Luis Hancco, indicated that there are not four but five signatures necessary to admit the request for reconsideration. He added that he will wait for the necessary deadline to be met.
