Approval of foreign debt operations with the IDB

This Saturday, February 26, in the newspaper El Peruano, Supreme Decree No. 023-2022-EF was published, approving foreign debt operations with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for up to US$74 million. It is intended to partially finance the investment project “Improvement and Expansion of the Storm Drainage Service of the city of Puerto Maldonado and CP Mayor El Triunfo in the districts of Tambopata and Las Piedras of the Province of Tambopata – Department of Madre de Dios”.

It is also required that the cancellation will be made through semi-annual installments, between 2028 and 2036, which includes a grace period of six and a half years. The borrowing operation will have an interest rate based on the three-month LIBOR rate, plus a margin to be determined by the IDB, in accordance with its interest rate policy.

This external indebtedness is subject to a credit commission on the undisbursed balance of the loan, which is established periodically, in accordance with the applicable provisions of IDB policy, without exceeding 0.75% per year.

The supreme decree is signed by the president of the Council of Ministers, AnĂ­bal Torres; by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Oscar Graham; and by the Minister of Housing, Construction and Sanitation, Geiner Alvarado.
