This Friday, February 25, the project of law 01370/2021-CR, which proposes granting a compensation for time of service of 100% of the full monthly remuneration (RIM) to teachers of institutes and schools of higher education.

The The project bears the signature of Wilson Quispe Mamani, congressman for Peru Libreand other congressmen from this same party, such as Germán Tacuri, Bernardo Quito, Alex Flores and Guido Bellido, appear as co-authors.

The document proposes to modify article 97 of Law 30512, Law of Institutes and Schools of Higher Education and the Public Career of its Teachersin the following terms:

The teacher receives a compensation for time of service that is granted at the time of his dismissal, at the rate of 100% of his RIMS, per year or fraction of the months of official services. Compensation for length of service accrues from the first month of admission to the career. The payment must be made within a period not exceeding 30 days after the termination of their employment relationship.

The current article states that teachers receive compensation for service time equivalent to 14% of their RIM, per proportional year for each month and day of official service time.

In addition, the proposal specifies that, on February 2, 2022, the Congress of the Republic approved the ruling of the “Law that revalues ​​the teaching career”, modifying article 63 of Law 29944, “Teaching Reform Law”, on compensation for length of service, where EBR professors are recognized compensation for length of service at a rate of 100% of their full monthly remuneration (RIM) per year or fraction of the months of official services worked effectively, from his appointment to the date of his retirement from the public teaching career.
