Minister Chávez: Companies cannot treat workers who do the same job differently

The head of the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE), Betssy Chávez, referred to the supreme decree on the outsourcing and remarked that said rule aims to improve this activity in the country.

“The labor legal figures in themselves are not bad. What is bad is turning the norm around, which is a situation that happens in our country”, he indicated.

He mentioned that this modality should not be applied in firms that have a core business and intend to outsource that activity. “Companies cannot have differentiated treatment between two workers who do the same job. That’s wrong,” he said.

In this sense, Chávez Chino pointed out that this is a very important step, since it is within the guidelines of the International Labor Organization (ILO).

On the other hand, the official indicated that, although investment generates work, it must have a human perspective because the well-being of all workers in the country is sought.

He added that his sector longs to improve productivity in the construction sector and, for this, it has to go hand in hand with improvements in working conditions, especially in terms of safety and health in the workplace.

He added that, despite all the particularities that are currently arising in Peruvian politics, the economic reactivation in the country is a reality and that this is manifested in a better position in the economic stability in the region.

“I urge you to be optimistic about the future and to continue working to build and build a more prosperous, modern country with social justice,” concluded the head of the sector at the opening of the Forum From the Reactivation to the Modernization of the Construction Sector.
