Hondarribia airport will have a new flight to London this summer, thus expanding its connections, as reported by the Donostia-San Sebastián Airport Promotion Society, Ortzibia.
The British Airways company, through its subsidiary CityFlyer, will operate the flight with London City airport. The programming, which will begin in the week of July 8 and end in the first week of September, will have two weekly flights on Fridays and Mondays. The aircraft used will be an Embraer 190 with 98 seats.
Ortzibia recalled that this connection was scheduled during the summer of 2020 but the pandemic situation prevented it from being carried out. After continuous work between the company and CityFlyer during these years, “in 2022 it will finally be operational.”
The operation adds an international connection to the Gipuzkoan airport, which has managed to significantly expand its flights in the last year, as the historic routes with Madrid and Barcelona have been joined by flights with Mallorca, Menorca, the Canary Islands and those recently announced with Seville and Malaga.
