The measure will be applied to the payroll for this month of February and will be retroactive to January 1.
The Governing Council approved this Tuesday the 2% salary increase for all staff working in the Basque Public Administration, a measure that will be applied to the payroll for this month of February and will be retroactive to January 1.
The salary increase, as explained by the Basque Government, is negotiated with the unions in the General Board of Public Function and is included in article 19 of the General Budget Law of the Autonomous Community of Euskadi for the year 2022, which establishes the remuneration of the personnel at the service of the General Administration, autonomous bodies, public entities governed by private law and consortiums of the public sector of the CAE, not subject to the labor regime.
Likewise, it ensures that the remuneration of personnel at the service of the public sector may not experience an overall increase of more than 2% with respect to those in force as of December 31, 2021, as established by the General State Budget Law. This same percentage will also be applicable to senior positions, management personnel and labor personnel in the public sector.
The salary increase will have a total cost of 76.7 million euros and it will affect all regional public personnel (General Administration, Security, Education, Justice and Osakidetza) and is the reference framework for the entire Autonomous Basque Public Sector in which some 80,000 people work.
