The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) reported that it delivered 22.5 tons of cultivated pasture seeds to livestock producers in four districts of the Pasco and Daniel Alcides Carrión provinces, in order to face frost seasons through Agro Rural.

An approximate of 1,028 families will benefit from these seeds. “They will increase their agricultural productivity and the timely feeding of sheep and South American camelids will be guaranteed throughout the year,” he said. Rogelio Huamaní Carbajal, executive director of Agro Rural.
The seasons of frost, droughts and other adverse meteorological phenomena can be faced with these seeds that are being sown in an area of 750 hectares of land. The goal is to be able to install 900 hectares of pasture in its varieties of dactylis, red clover and forage oats.

This project is part of Multisectoral Plan for Frost and Cold 2021. “In the province of Pasco, the Simón Bolívar district will install 100 ha; in Huayllay, 50 ha; in Ninacaca there will be 400 ha. Meanwhile, in the province of Daniel Alcides Carrión, the district of Yanahuanca will sow a total of 350 ha of cultivated pastures ”, informed the executive director of Agro Rural.
