In a statement, the company explained that the construction of the new plant, located in the Portsmouth maritime terminal and with a size of 32 hectares, will begin when the order for the supply of wind turbines by the US power company Dominion Energy is final.
Once the new plant is at full capacity, it will have 260 people on staff, in addition to 50 additional positions to carry out operation and maintenance tasks.
On the other hand, Siemens Gamesa will analyze a possible expansion of the factory if it wins new projects in the state of Virginia, one of the leading regions in the offshore wind sector in the United States.
