The PAR 2021 Ranking promoted by the company Aequales that seeks to implement tools in companies to close gender gaps in the workplace, has evaluated 863 companies from 18 Latin American countries. At today’s award ceremony,he Peruvian companies Konecta and Financiera OH! They ranked eighth and tenth in Latin America. The first three places were occupied by Colombia with the companies Diageo, Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia and SAP.
“Latin America is a region that for years has been based on privilege. In a context where for a long time we have seen that where you live, where you were born, how you look, what language you speak, sets the tone for where you will go and even what position you can have within an organization”, explained Andrea de la Piedra , CEO and co-founder of Aequales. Taking this context into account, companies have begun to measure how the LGTBIQ+ community has been included, groups that have historically been discriminated against, and how more women continue to be included.
Among the top 10 Peruvian companies that were evaluated, Konecta, Financiera OH! and Scotiabank.
Main findings
Some actions that companies are implementing to achieve equity in this last year are the equity policies (66%), action plans (56%), creation of equity committees (61%), and the protocol for prevention, attention and punishment of bullying and harassment (73%).
The more flexibilities have been implemented in companies, the higher percentage of women have benefited. Some of these actions are the application of flexible or staggered schedules, flexible days for any collaboration, remote or distance work, paid leave in addition to what is contemplated by law, among others, was highlighted in the analysis carried out by Aequales.
In addition, a comparison was made between companies that have gender goals and those that do not. In those who have this type of goals they have 16% more women promoted, 32% of women promoted to leadership positions Y 8% more women hired.
On the other hand, it was highlighted that 62% of the companies carry out training in personal branding, negotiation, assertive communication, networking, among other actions to promote female leadership.
