Indecopi reported that the company Honda of Peru S.A. began the call for review of its SUV and pick-up trucks, since they present improper fit which could cause the hood to open while driving and cause an accident by obstructing the driver’s vision.
It should be noted that a total of 1,337 vehicles of these models have been imported, distributed and marketed in Peru, which would be affected by this call for review. The company reported that the following measures have been adopted to mitigate the risk:
- Communication to the sales dealers requesting to make direct contact with each owner until the attention of all the units.
- Sending of the bulletin and communication model with the warning to the final consumer, to the dealers.
- Publication on the Honda website about the recall.
- Publication of the warning in a national newspaper on February 9, 2022.
It should be noted that the communication to the owners of said units must be made within a maximum period of 5 calendar days from when the company becomes aware of the risk.
