The government of the president peter castle accepted the resignation of Jorge Chávez Cresta to the Vice Ministry of Mines of the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem).
Through Supreme Resolution No. 005-2022-EM, dated February 14, 2022, the resignation of Chávez Cresta is accepted -four days after his resignation-, and he is thanked for the services provided.
“Accept the resignation made by Mr. Jorge Luis Chávez Cresta, to the position of Vice Minister of Mines of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, thanking him for the services rendered, the resolution specifies.
The assignment of functions contained in article 2 of Supreme Resolution No. 014-2021-EM is also nullified. Chávez Cresta was also in charge of the Vice Ministry of Hydrocarbons since October 29, due to the resignation of engineer Enrique Bisetti.
In his resignation letter, the retired general officer of the Peruvian Army said that the Minem requires technical and specialized officials and policies, conditions not respected with the recent appointments, which would respond “to a partisan slogan and not to merits.” no professional experience.
With this, the Minem is left with only one of its three vice-ministeries with a current holder: Electricity, in charge of José Dávila Pérez. The resolution has the signature of President Pedro Castillo and Minister Carlos Palacios Pérez.
