Osinfor prepares supervision tools for agroforestry contracts in the Amazon

The Supervision Agency for Forest Resources and Wild Fauna (Osinfor), with the technical support of the AgroFor Project, strengthened the capacities and knowledge of its officials regarding the technical and regulatory aspects of the Concessions in Use contracts for Agroforestry Systems (CUSAF).

The head of Osinfor, Lucetty Ullilen, highlighted the importance of the role of the institution and the National Forest Service (Serfor) in accompanying the implementation of the assignment contracts in use, which will help in the formalization of family farmers in our Amazon.

The CUSAF are a type of land use right, which allows the formalization of productive forestry and agroforestry activities of family farmers in areas identified as agroforestry, silvopastoral or recovery production areas.

Through these training spaces, Osinfor seeks to ensure a responsive approach in the future development of the supervision tools of this qualification.

Along these lines, Víctor Huamán, director of the Osinfor Forestry and Wildlife Control Directorate, presented the Work Plan that will be launched with the AgroFor Project during 2022, which includes three components: supervision (which involves identification of indicators), regulatory improvement (to ensure adequate intervention) and capacity building (application of the Osinfor Forest Backpack to promote preventive management).
