62% of Peruvians between 18 and 35 years old are satisfied with the products offered by their banks, while 11% are very satisfied, according to a study carried out by the Mambu financial services platform.
The report also reveals that 76% of Peruvians are very satisfied with their bank’s application, while 26% are satisfied.
The research involving 1,250 respondents from six Latin American countries (Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil) also showed that 80% of Peruvian users use a traditional bank, while 10% use a neo bank and a 8% both.
On the other hand, when asked why they would change institutions if they ever did, respondents mentioned that they would do so for better benefits and prices, better customer services and digital tools, and better products and services, among others.
Also, it revealed that Peru 61% of users would change banks if another offered better benefits and prices, more branches and lower commissions.
“Our survey results reflect the utmost importance and priority that financial institutions of any kind must give to user experiences because otherwise they will see their customer base taken away by their competitors,” said Martha Malaver, Director general of Mambu for the North and South Cone.
Regional results of the status of bancarization
At the regional level, the Mambu study further found that it found that 88% of respondents have access to some type of financial institution, a much higher concentration of banked people compared to Latin America and the Caribbean as a whole, where roughly half the population is.
